La Nitrate Hydrate (La(NO₃)₃·6H₂O): Chemical Additive, Reaction Catalyst, Growth Promoter
La nitrate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula La(NO₃)₃•6H₂O, appearing as white crystals. It is soluble in water (~25g per 100mL at 18°C) and benzene. When heated to 760°C, it decomposes into La oxide.

Preparation of La Nitrate Hydrate
Dissolve an appropriate amount of La oxide in 50% nitric acid solution using steam bath heating. Typically, the oxide dissolves completely; if any residual oxide remains at the container bottom, filter the solution. Heat the clarified solution in a 75°C water bath to evaporate most of the solvent. Crystals form upon cooling. Collect the crystals by filtration and dry them in a vacuum desiccator containing granular sodium hydroxide and magnesium perchlorate under reduced pressure to obtain hydrated La nitrate.
